This chic and exquisite 1965 Mini Cooper is a one-of-a-kind head turner.
Back in 2010 the owner wanted to fully restore his beloved Mini Cooper and had only one thing in mind; he wanted a Mini Cooper that was not only extremely unusual, but also fresh and groovy; and all that in a fashionable way. For this job he started a co-operation with a well established and prominent restorer of European cars with an impeccable reputation and an eye for detail. After some brainstorming sessions they decided to build a tribute car that is based on the radically distinctive and world famous Mini Cooper designed by British fashion designer Sir Paul Smith who in 1991 was made a Royal Designer for Industry, a distinction established by the British Royal Society of Arts and who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000. The full body and engine restoration project lasted for a full year as all the parts were sourced, imported and meticulously assembled so that everything would be just as striking and voguish as the original Paul Smith Mini.
The result is a spectacular and dashing car with 86 different-coloured stripes that matches the original down to the badges. As a consequence it was no surprise that this dashing Mini easily won 1st prize in the Mini Cooper Division of the 2011 Transhow, which is the biggest car show in the country.
If you are in the market for a flagship model of the British car industry, that is one of a kind snazzy, vintage and immaculate, then look no further. This is IT! A small city car that not only calls for, but fully deserves B I G attention.
