In 1961, H.R. Ocampo transitioned as an artist from his ‘Proletariat’ period where he was able to depict and translate stark realities onto his canvas. These years showed him at the height of his creativity with subject and medium before the ‘Mutant’ period when he created most of his pieces.
Biomorphism is a technique greatly used by the National Artist - figurative or non-figurative. In this piece, Ocampo is able to maximize this play of forms with texture juxtaposed onto the bold work.
